With the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, which was based on the theme park ride, Disney has high hopes for it's live-action adaptation of the popular video game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The studio has a script and is feverishly looking for a hot male lead to play the Prince. LatinoReview.com is reporting that Disney Studios has put an offer out to Jake Gyllenhaal. It could be the franchise opportunity of a lifetime for him. It will be a very physically demanding role but I know that our Jake would look fantastic and be great in it!
Disney is targeting a June 2009 release date for the film.

I heard Orlando Bloom got the role
There were rumours of Orlando Bloom signing a 3-picture deal worth $40 million but Disney has since stated that was just a rumour.
